The Night Manager Season 2 Storyline
Set eight years after the events of Season 1, Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) has attempted to disappear. He is living under the alias Alex Goodwin, serving as a low-level MI6 officer running a surveillance unit called “The Night Owls” in London. His life is quiet and plagued by insomnia until he recognizes a familiar face from Richard Roper’s old network.
The “conundrum” begins when Pine is pulled back into the field to investigate Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva), a charismatic but ruthless Colombian arms dealer who has modeled his operation after Roper’s. Pine is forced to adopt a new, high-flying identity—Matthew Ellis, a reckless financier—to infiltrate Dos Santos’s inner circle in Colombia. Along the way, he forms a complex, romantic alliance with Roxana Bolaños (Camila Morrone), a sharp businesswoman who knows the secrets of the Colombian shipping trade. The season explores themes of trauma, betrayal, and whether a spy can ever truly leave the shadows.
