Young Sherlock Series Storyline
Set in the 1870s, the story follows a disgraced and unfiltered Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) long before he becomes the legendary resident of Baker Street.
The Mystery: After a series of murders occur within the walls of Oxford University, Sherlock finds himself the primary suspect. To clear his name, he is forced to investigate his first-ever case.
A Different Partnership: In a major twist on the source material, this series features James Moriarty (Dónal Finn) not as an enemy, but as a bright young student who teams up with Sherlock to solve the crime.
Family Secrets: The show digs deep into Sherlock’s family history. His mother, Cordelia (Natascha McElhone), is locked in an asylum, while his father, Silas (Joseph Fiennes), has been largely absent. His older brother Mycroft (Max Irons) tries to keep him out of trouble, with mixed results.
Global Stakes: What starts as a local murder mystery quickly spirals into a globe-trotting conspiracy that takes Sherlock from the streets of London to the frontlines of the Franco-Prussian War in Paris and as far as Constantinople.
